Big Girl Glasses

Emma got some big girl glasses today. She knew exactly what she wanted and we must have run to 8 different Eyeglass Stores. Finally, she found them....an hour away. But I think they were so worth waiting for. She looks adorable.

About Stinkin Time....

Finally, Emma lost her first tooth today. A very lucky St. Patrick's Day tooth. She was so excited. I was at work when it happened, but she was with her Mimi so that was the next best thing. Kate was the one to actually pull it out. Emma was so happy and Hanna and Luci just started screaming and jumping up and down. I heard it was adorable. Here is a picture taken by Kate. She is rockin this photography business!

Relief

We got Hanna's blood test results back. All of her levels are back within normal range. Praise the Lord my baby is all better! Thanks for all the prayers.

I'm so excited...

Guess where we get to go tonight? The girls are so super excited. Emma got tickets for her birthday and we can hardley stand it! There will be pictures, lots and lots of pictures.Pray for safe travels into Baltimore tonight. Last time I went to the city the van got broken into. Of course, lesson learned, take down the portable DVD players!

Wanna See Something Pitiful?

Hanna awoke this morning running a 103.6 degree temperature and vomiting. Will and I took her to the doctor right away. She assured us it was something viral and just to take her home to get some rest. If not better in the morning to take her for blood work. Well, the day progressed and so did Hanna's temperature. She vomited the entire day and finally at 2pm when I took her temperature it was 105 degrees. I called the doctor and she said, "Take her to the ER asap". So I called Will crying, he came home, and we took our baby to the ER. Her temperature was 104 and they were having diffuculty bringing it down. The nurses and doctors were phenomenal. They gave Hanna IV fluids, antibiotics, and anti-nauseu medicine. Hanna never even budged when they drew her blood and gave her an IV. She was out of it. And hour and half later when she came too, she wanted to know where the IV came from. We spent 6 hours at the ER, and the blood results showed a serious case of Strep Throat. She never even complained of a sore throat!? Hanna's white blood count was over 40,000. Normal is 5,000-10,000. Her body was fighting so hard. I praise God that we got her to the ER when we did. She is doing great now. She will be sleeping next to momma tonight though!

Today is your Day

Happy 7th birthday Emma Catheryn. You were my first born, bringing me joy and love that I didn't know even existed. I love you so much beautiful one.

Jacoby Augusta

Jacoby has a habit of hording his toys. He will take all 6 or 7 of them and cluster them together. He will search the house until all the toys have been found and gathered. Here he couldn't decide which he wanted to chew on, so he had two of them in his mouth. He is truly one of the smartest dogs I know....most of the time.

Asheville Bound

I am leaving for a girls trip in a couple of days with two of my very good friends. One of whom I haven't seen in 3 years. We are heading south...to Asheville NC. Land of grits and sweet tea. Not exactly sure how this type of "diet" is going to play a part in my new Weight Watchers lifestyle, but we shall see. I do believe that grits are listed as a filling food though. Wonder about those sweet potato pancakes I saw listed at the Tupelo Honey Cafe? I must remain strong! I am certain that my southern roots will rear their ugly head and I will return to the north saying "ya'll" and "buggy". It will again take my dear friend Kate many many months to break me from the habit of calling a shopping cart a buggy. Sorry Kate, I apologize in advance. If anyone has been to the area and has any recommendations as to how three girls can find some fun or an excellent place to eat, please pass it along. Please pray for traveling mercies as I will be traveling with my friend Sandi, who just might be even more directionally challenged than myself. Happy trials Ya'll!

Date Night

Not exactly the picture you were expecting, right? Will and Brian had some much needed "man time" tonight with James Bond. Brian showed up at our door with flowers for Will. To to funny! Are You Serious?

Have you ever had a day where you questioned your own intelligence? I have, but will no longer beat myself up over those thoughts. There is always someone out there a little less intelligent than I. Take for example, the following conversation I just had with a popular TV satellite service.

Me: I was just calling to let you know that I returned your equipment via UPS today.

Customer Service "Guru": So, when exactly did you send the equipment back?

Me: Oh, about 30 minutes ago.

Customer Service "Guru": Well, I don't show that we have received it yet.

Me: Are you serious?

Yes, yes he was. "Bob" from India was serious. Man, I feel like a genius sometimes.

Please Pray

One of my very best friends grandfather just passed away from cancer. This has been a very tough battle for the family, but he was a Christian so we know that we will see him again. Please be in prayer for Sandi and her family. Isn't Grandpa Frank a handsome man? We love you Sandi and will be in prayer.

A New Princess Is On Her Way Home...

As many of you know my best friend was in the process of adopting her second precious daughter from Vietnam. Since Vietnam has closed it's door to U.S. adoptions my best friends heart was broken. But out of her brokenness God has provided many new options and answers. I am so proud to announce that my new niece will be coming home from Ethiopia. We could not be more excited. An Ethiopian princess in the family. I cannot wait to hold her and tell her how special she is and how God lead us to her. Please continue to pray for Kate and her family. They are in the process up updating all of their dossier paperwork in order to switch adoption countries from Vietnam to Ethiopia. You can follow Kate's journey on her blog. And He Wore Red...

This past weekend Will was asked to dress up as Elmo for a friend's daughters 3rd birthday. He said yes! I could not believe it. Will will do just about anything to help someone out and to make a little girls birthday extra special. This includes dressing up as Elmo. Well, the birthday girl did not like Elmo/Wilmo one bit. But Emma and Hanna were totally in love. They said that it was the best part of their day. They have no idea that it was their daddy in the Elmo costume. So here is a "family" picture. Thinking of using it for Christmas cards this year! :) I did manage to talk Will out of wearing a shirt over top of the costume that said, "Tickle Me". What a crazy man. Love you Will, thanks for doing all the things no one else wants to do.

A Beautiful Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend. The past 3 weeks have been so insanely crazy for us that this weekend we had a much welcomed break, nothing to do! Oh sweet freedom. It was so beautiful out this weekend that Will and I decided to take the girls on a picnic and to the park on Saturday. They had a great time. Today I was able to get out of the house for some "girl time" and went to see the new Richard Gere movie, Nights of Rodanthe. How is it possible that that man just gets better looking with age? Anyways, great movie if you need a good cry. Just do not try to go grocery shopping when your eyes are nearly swollen shut from crying. Not a pretty sight. It was such a relaxing weekend and I feel ready to face a new week.
